On 26 August 2010, APBC hosted an entertaining networking evening with famous personalities from the Movie and Television Industry. Photos from the evening are now available.

Guest Speakers Stuart Scowcroft, Director and Producer, Global Entertainment Media and Paul De Carvalho, Head of Production Attraction for Screen NSW provided a clear insight into the global movie business.

Stuart discussed his project, a film entitled “Getting to Australia”, which is an Australian Film Production about a Filipino bellhop trying to go to Australia. This film will be shot in Australia and the Philippines. The discussion of this “feel good” project is a great way to reflect on your own experience, and share the journey with your friends. Stuart has extensive knowledge in international relations, co-production and business, and brings global network of contacts coupled with a long history of marketing and executive management. Paul talked about the opportunities for investing in production in New South Wales and Australia with his background as a consultant in various countries in Asia allowing him to understand the varying environments of members.

The Australia Philippines Business Council, with the support of the NSW Department of Industry and Investments, and Screen NSW, hosted the event. Business councils and chambers with links to Asia and the Pacific were also in attendance.
